The Rockhouse Pool, a sixty-foot, horizon swimming pool, is carved into the cliff's edge. The pool features a huge, one-foot deep step for lounging, and a 20-yard lap swimming beat. Snorkeling and swimming are among the major active pastimes at the Rockhouse. In addition to the swimming pool, ladders and stairs lead from the cliff's edge down into Pristine Cove. Here, crystal-clear, snorkel-perfect water provides a great environment for open water swimming, and fantastic views of the coral and sea life. Observe clusters of dwarf tube sponges, small coral heads and a variety of colorful reef fish. Snorkeling Gear as well as other Water Sports equipment rentals is available from the pool bar.

London Magazine, "Class Conscious: Stay in one of Jamaica's dreamiest hotels and you can help educate the local children"

"At 8am every morning, before the sun gets too hot, Fanette Johnson holds a Yoga class by the pool. It never gets crowded – on the busiest day there are four of us, and we're all impressed. Though I am not the most experienced in the class, by the third day her hands-on approach and reassuring voice even encourages me into a full shoulder-stand – a personal triumph."

Gourmet Traveller, "Caribbean Dream"

"Indolence is positively encouraged here, but other activities do beckon. There's a wealth of water sports, and early-morning yoga classes by the pool which looks its breathtaking best at dawn. Snorkeling is popular: the shallow coral beds are home to a kaleidoscopic array of marine life. Priceless experiences – like spotting a green turtle within arm's reach, lazily munching on a strand of seaweed – happen here every moment."

US Vogue, "High Season at the Right Price"

"Excellent swimming, snorkeling, or just floating around on a rubber raft (topless is ok) in the rocky cove below can be found at the Rockhouse. The whole property is built amid jungly gardens and dramatic cliffs fronting the sea. Guests sunbathe on rocky ledges on the cliffs with ladders leading down to the water for idyllic swimming."

Caribbean Travel & Life, "On the Rocks"

"I needed a West End-style wake up, and pad down the stone path until my toes are curled over the edge of the cliff. I come to full consciousness somewhere in free fall and linger a few silent moments underwater, suspended in the sea, its shallows still refreshingly cool from a predawn downpour."

100 Best Resorts of the Caribbean

"The fresh water pool, carved from rock at the edge of the cliff, pleases guests who might not cherish diving into the sea from the rocks, although the water here – aptly named Pristine Cove – is the cleanest and clearest in Negril. Ladders and stairs carved into the rock provide easy access to the water for swimming and snorkeling on the nearby reef."
