Growing the next generation of eco-champions.
The Rockhouse Foundation and the TUI Care Foundation are proud to partner on TUI Junior Academy Jamaica: an environmental education initiative teaching children to understand, protect and care for the natural world. At Sav Inclusive Academy, Moreland Hill Primary and St. Paul's Primary, students learn that protecting Jamaica's environment starts right where they are: in their classrooms, schoolyards, homes and communities.
Through age-appropriate lessons, hands-on activities and nature-based learning, they explore issues that touch their daily lives, from waste and recycling to water conservation, biodiversity, climate change, sustainable agriculture and the protection of Jamaica's natural resources - helping them to see themselves as Eco Champions, capable of creating change.
The TUI Junior Academy Jamaica turns environmental concepts into everyday action: from nature walks, through to composting, field trips and beach clean-ups. Through the Eco-Monitor initiative, young leaders promote environmentally responsible habits among their peers, giving every child a role to play in protecting Jamaica.
New York University
The Future of Career Paths.
NYU’s School of Professional Studies, Career Pathways Bridge Program brings together students from New York and Jamaica through shared learning, service and a commitment to creating more inclusive communities.
NYU students visited Sav Inclusive as part of a Global Field Intensive in Jamaica to experience our model of inclusive education firsthand, and explore how children with and without disabilities can learn, grow and thrive alongside one another.
Rockhouse Foundation leaders have since reconnected with NYU Bridge students in New York to continue that exchange, exploring what it means to build a career where “passion meets purpose.” Through this growing relationship, students on both sides are exposed to new perspectives, experiences and possibilities, reinforcing our belief that education can extend far beyond the classroom.

Building High Expectations.
Pat McKee and Julie Russo’s extraordinary support of the Rockhouse Foundation reflects a deep belief in the future of inclusive education in Jamaica. Through a commitment of more than US$1 million over ten years, they are helping Sav Inclusive Academy grow through Grade 12, ensuring that students of all abilities can continue their education in an environment rooted in love, family and high expectations.

Pat and Julie helped forge a meaningful partnership with NC State University, bringing specialized expertise and ongoing professional development to Sav Inclusive’s teachers and staff. By investing in both the growth of the school and the people who make inclusive education possible every day, they are helping Rockhouse Foundation build a stronger, more sustainable model for inclusion in Jamaica.

RIU Corporate Social Responsibility
Growing Healthier Bodies, Habits & Futures.
The Rockhouse Foundation partners with RIU Corporate Social Responsibility (RIU CSR) to strengthen health and wellness programming at Sav Inclusive Academy, built on the belief that children thrive when physical health, emotional wellbeing and individual ability are supported alongside education. With RIU CSR's support, Sav Inclusive runs a comprehensive Health, Wellness & Fitness programme that gets children moving, encourages healthier eating, builds confidence and teamwork, and supports physical development across a wide range of abilities.
With a dedicated Health, Wellness & Fitness coach, students take part in structured 45-minute activity sessions each week. For some, that means running, jumping and team play. For others, particularly children receiving therapy, it means building balance, posture, coordination and independence. The goal isn't athletic ability; it's giving every child the chance to participate and benefit from movement.
Physical activity complements the school's therapy programmes. Reported outcomes include improved attention and turn-taking, communication through signs or picture symbols for some non-speaking students, better balance and posture, and more coordinated walking or running, gains that carry into the classroom, lunchtime and play.
Jay Hatfield Family Foundation
Mainstreaming tech literacy and computer based learning.
Since 2016 the Jay Hatfield Family Foundation has provided the largest sustained grant for computer based literacy and numeracy in the Foundation’s schools.
It is implemented by board member Ian Coville. Every child from first through sixth grade at Moreland Hill and Little Bay devotes weekly hours to math and reading skills.
Since 2021 the grant has spearheaded the eSpark programme, remedying the learning losses of the pandemic, updating devices and paying for more reliable internet.
Howard University
Bringing the cutting edge of speech therapy to Western Jamaica.
The Psychology, Education and Speech Language Therapy departments of Howard University support the therapeutic needs of the Sav Inclusive School.
In 2019, Howard professors engaged 135 local teachers from the Savanna-la-Mar region in a two day professional development workshop. The work runs through Smiles for Speech, the non-profit arm founded by Howard alumnae to bring speech language therapy to the Global South.
The partnership is ongoing: conferences on strategies for teachers and parents of children with disabilities, training for our staff, undergraduate and graduate volunteer placements, graduate practicums, and the development of an online degree programme.
